Stella at Stage School

Stella May wins a scholarship to Madam Spencer’s Stage School. But her father does not approve or understand Stella’s acting and thinks it is detrimental to her education, which he drives her too hard at. He keeps threatening to withdraw Stella from the school if she fails her schoolwork.

Princess of the Sun

Plot

The perfectly preserved body of Nusta Calixapas, daughter of the last of the Inca kings, comes to life when it is discovered during an archaeological expedition. Nusta refuses to be separated from Melanie Mace, an archaeologist’s daughter, whom she makes her personal maid. So Nusta comes to England and Melanie’s boarding school, but her haughtiness as a royal is not making her popular. She also starts developing strange fainting fits, but recovers in the sunlight.

Katy the Cabby

Plot

Katy Talbot’s father runs a taxi service, but then there is a mysterious fire in which his taxi is destroyed. The Talbots suspect Tim Blundstone, who runs a rival taxi service, but cannot prove it. Katy restarts the family taxi business with an old-fashioned horse and cab, but Blundstone is out to sabotage her.

Dorinda from the Deep

Plot:

Kelly Mann, a sculpturer, takes on the job of sculpting a statue of a ballerina, Dorinda, for the new ballet theatre. She is unsure as to whether she is up to the job and is having trouble finding the purest white stone required. Then, after a strange storm, Kelly finds such a piece of stone on the beach. When she starts work, she is surprised to find the statue is beginning to shape all by itself.

Last Chance for Laura

Plot

Laura Patterson’s modelling career is on the line because success has gone to her head and made her arrogant and badly behaved. When Laura’s misbehaviour causes an accident that damages her face, her younger sister Amy agrees to pretend to be her in the modelling assignments until her face heals. It is vital that the deception is not discovered because it would definitely destroy Laura’s career after her misconduct. Amy is also using her pose as Laura to convey the image that Laura has reformed and thus saving her career. Privately, though, the real Laura is proving slow to reform.
