Stage School

Plot:

Two vacancies are going at The Madame Celeste Stage School. Nicky Carr wins one place. But the other place goes to Gavin Mellor, an arrogant boy Nicky crossed during the auditions. And so the stage is set for feuding between Nicky and Gavin.

It gets even worse when Gavin and Nicky are both chosen to star in a new TV soap. They have to pretend they are friends on screen, but their hatred keeps erupting into constant fighting. Eventually, the producers write their antagonism into the show.

Sara’s Secret Garden

Plot

Sara Stanford is sent to stay with relatives when her parents go abroad. Sara finds it difficult living with a rowdy family because she is used to being on her own and needs some space. She finds it in restoring a rooftop garden on top of a disused department store.

Plot

Harriet Jones is treated like a servant at Greygables Grange, the home of her wealthy relatives, the Manston family. Then Harriet finds a mysterious portrait of Vicky, who begins to exert an evil influence over Harriet.

Second-Hand Sal

Plot:

Sal Edwards has been used to the posh life and school until her parents split up. Sal goes with her mother, and is dismayed to find they are moving into a more humble flat and running a second-hand clothes stall for a living. Terrified of being bullied and being called “Second-Hand Sal” at school, Sal goes to great lengths to keep her schoolmates from finding out.
