Runaway Rose / The Many Faces of Moira

Plot

Fourteen year old, Rose Manson (Moira Manson in the reprint) had great talent as an entertainer and mimic, and her wicked Uncle Charlie had used her to attract a crowd while, unknown to Rose, he picked pockets. Uncle Charlie was arrested, but Rose panicked and ran, and joined a fair.

Plot

Shelley Dixon’s  mother was killed in an accident but Shelley had promised her  that she would work to win a scholarship to a ballet school. When Shelley’s father remarried, she found that Karen and Dave, her new stepsister and stepbrother, were jealous because she had inherited money from her mother to pay for her ballet training.

Plot

Lucy Barr lives in a seaside town called Moresby. One day she finds a strange stone on the beach. It seems to bring her good luck, and other stones like it, that turn up mysteriously convince her of their power— even though it brings people close to her BAD luck!

Plot

Vicki Yates was traveling around the country entering beauty contests, sponsored by Elaine Larner, a former beauty queen. But Vicki discovered that Elaine was using her in an evil plot against other ex-beauty queens.

Little Miss Mystery

Plot

A girl suffering from loss of memory is identified as Martha Landor,  the daughter of well-to-do parents. However, her parents, house and garden hold no memories for Martha. Only the grim housekeeper, Mrs Meeling, seems to stir the deeply-hidden past. As soon as the chance comes her way, Martha heads for the only place she can remember, the hospital she was brought to when she was first found.

The Girl Next Door [1982]

Plot

Kay Chumley lived with her widowed mom in a bungalow at the top of a country lane. While she had plenty of friends at school, she was lonesome in the evenings and weekends with no-one around. So she is delighted when a family move in next door with a girl the same age as her. While Kay is keen to make friends with Norma Black, Norma is not as nice as she seems.

The Double Life of Delia

Plot

Heiress Delia Davenport was determined to help the poor people in  Victorian London, but her guardians, Henry and Amelia, refused to allow her money to spend on the poor. By behaving like a spoilt child. Delia was able to get money from them. Disguised as Lame Lottie, a crippled girl, Delia took  food and clothes to the needy living in the slums.
