Plot

Millie Morrison’s sister Wilma worked hard to look after Millie and her brother and sister. as their parents were dead. Millie was determined to find a husband for Wilma, but so far her attempts had been unsuccessful.

The Search for the Singing Boxes

Plot

Emily Dixon had led a spoilt, sheltered life in the Victorian home of her Grandfather, a  retired toymaker. But when her Grandfather died, Emily discovered that all he had left her was a collection of musical boxes, hidden in various places. Emily set out with her maid, Dora Jones, to recover the boxes.

The Rebel School

Plot

In 1745, when Bonnie Prince Charlie and his Highland army were defeated, his supporters in England were punished severely. The girls of Miss Ferguson’s school in Westmorland had made a flag  for Prince Charlie, and Colonel Rawden, the local magistrate, imprisoned Miss Ferguson and demanded £2000 for her release. Anne Latimer, the girls’ leader, was determined to pay the , fine.

Lonely Ballerina

Plot

Gwen Jones from Llandriffryn  in Wales had won a scholarship to the famous Slavonia Ballet School in Moscow. Her highly individual style appealed to some of the Slavonia authorities, but not to Madame Pruna, the ballet mistress, who was out to make life at the school unbearable —for Gwen. But when Gwen saw her first-ever stage performance of a ballet, she was determined to finish the ballet course.

Jill – Junior Reporter

Plot

Jill Cooper, was a junior reporter  on the AppWord Clarion, when she decided to go to London and try to get another job there. She arrives at Daily Echo, on a day when all other reporters are busy, so she gets sent out on an assignment and actually manages to accidentally get the big scoop that all the other reporter’s were looking for.

Her Worship Wendy / Her Worship Winnie / Wendy’s Top Team

Plot

Wendy Shuttle’s  father was the Mayor of Chasebury and, as her mother was dead, he had appointed schoolgirl, Wendy as Mayoress! Wendy returned in a sequel Wendy’s Top Team where she needed to organise a team of entertainers who would represent the town in a “Top Town” contest.

In the reprint in Tracy the names were changed, so Wendy Shuttle become’s Winnie Watson of Brumington.

The Girl They Left Behind

Plot

Joan Bryant, daughter of the Head of the British Consulate to Cambada in South East Asia, had been accidentally left behind when the consulate staff had evacuated. The Royal family were all thought to be killed but Joan had been asked by the Royal nursemaid to get young Prince Chula to safety.
