Mermaids at War

Plot

Former swimming star Dodie Lamont gave Diana Renton a job as a couch to the Mermaid Swimming club, promising to donate money to save Mermaids swimming pool only if Diana could produce a champion. Anthea Lomax and Maggie Main were the clubs brightest hopes and Diana turned them into deadly rivals to provoke best performance.

Katy the Cabby

Plot

Katy Talbot’s father runs a taxi service, but then there is a mysterious fire in which his taxi is destroyed. The Talbots suspect Tim Blundstone, who runs a rival taxi service, but cannot prove it. Katy restarts the family taxi business with an old-fashioned horse and cab, but Blundstone is out to sabotage her.

Singing for Joy

Plot:

After Joy Lawson’s grandfather was badly injured and  temporarily deafened in an explosion at Blackley’s factory, Joy accidentally smashed his precious records of songs written by his late wife and sung by a choir she had trained. Joy formed her own girls’ choir to record the songs again, but Miss Frith, music teacher at the Grammar School, had vowed to get rid of any choir that rivalled her own. By a trick, Miss Frith got the choir into trouble, and the Juvenile Court ordered the girls not — to associate with Joy any more. Joy went to Mr Blackley for help, and he organised a newspaper campaign to investigate.

Sail-Away Cindy

Plot

Cindy Rivers, in whose father owns a boatyard in Brightsea, wins many of the sailing races she enters in her dinghy,”Sail-Away.” Hilda Bellamy, whose father also owns a boatyard, is Cindy’s greatest rival. In the local regatta, Cindy and Hilda tie in an important race.

I Hate Her! [1978]

Plot

Gwen Farrow and Sue Blake were both good  tennis players, but that was all they had in common. Gwen considered Sue to be tough and bad-mannered, while Sue thought Gwen was a stuck-up snob! Both girls were hoping to win the Junior County Championships. .

Star Wars

Plot

Sharon Clark and Tina West, pupils  at Silverdale Stage School, played the parts of sisters Donna and Tracy in the T.V. series, “The Lee Family”. In the series, Donna and Tracy were always fighting, but unknown to anyone else, the fighting continued when filming stopped, because Sharon and Tina couldn’t stand each other.
