Sandra’s Secret Swim

Plot:

Sandra Shaw and her family are bird-watching on the island of Alteiri when it is taken over by Antello Perez and his Black Mambe terrorists. They plan to assassinate President Stanislau of Louvain, a world-famous peace worker. Perez takes Sandra hostage. She is determined to swim for help, but has to learn to swim properly after polio, and in secret.

The Promise Pandora Made / Pandora’s Secret Pledge

Plot

When her mother died, young Princess Pandora promised to help the poor and the needy people of her kingdom. In the sequel, “Pandora’s Secret Pledge”, Princess Pandora disguises herself as a boy to search for the Golden Stallion, the finest horse in the kingdom. She finds the stallion and bonds with it. Then, when her father goes on crusade, she and the stallion have to honour the ancient custom of completing the dangerous ride of the Three Peaks or lose the throne. But the king’s enemies are out to stop her completing the task.

In Fear of Fire Mountain

Plot:

Trudy, Pru, Jo, Mel and their injured teacher Miss Martin end up on a Pacific island after their yacht is wrecked. Unfortunately a volcano is due to erupt, and then it does. Their only hope is the last remaining islander, Sam, who has not evacuated, and his submarine. But Sam gets knocked out at the critical moment of evacuation!

Plot:

The Faith and Hope of Charity Brown

Plot:

In Britain in 1931, life was very grim – no welfare state, no National Health and very little employment. For Charity eldest daughter of the Brown family, times were extremely hard. Her  mother had died and her father had gambled away the family fortune. Later he married again, but this was another disaster.  One day, Charity discovered her father and his new wife had stolen money from a famous violinist.

Maisie Mercury

Plot:

Maisie Mercury was banished from the School of Gods to Earth because she was badly behaved. She was set a number of tasks by Jupiter, the chief god. She was doing well , but she didn’t realise her school teacher, Somnus,  was trying to sabotage her efforts so that she wouldn’t return to his classroom.  She returns in  other stories where she is put in charge of new wishing well,  and another time a crystal ball, but again a rival tries to strip her of her post.
