Queen of Koko Island

Plot

Young Sally Samson was made Queen of Koko Island because she looked like the statue of ancient Queen Sooki, a former ruler. She was advised by the prime minister, Yoboko, and Sally’s aunt and uncle and her circus family circus had come along to the island too and helped out when difficulties arose.

Sister Sal What a Gal

Plot

Millicent Wingrove attends an exclusive school, St Anne’s. Her father remarries and her new stepsister Sally joins her at the school. Unfortunately Sally has not been taught manners, especially table manners, and at an exclusive school this makes for problems.

Patti Must Paint

Plot

Patti Charlton is a talented artist and wants to go to art school. But when her unscrupulous Uncle Sid adopts her to look after his motherless twins, he forbids her to paint, so she has to find ways of getting to art school in secret. She also has to contend with bullying at school, especially with spiteful Alice.

School of Secrets [1978]

Plot

Sara Briggs goes to Offshore Island, a school for children from broken homes. It is run by the sinister Miss Macey and Mr Briggs is giving Miss Macey the money for it. But Sara is getting suspicious as the pupils behave very strangely. They march like puppets and emerge from accidents without a flinch or hint of pain. Then Sara discovers that Miss Macey has a very strange treatment for her pupils and has a “great plan”.
