Sogga from the Swamp

Plot

When Jane Eccles found Sogga wandering in the street and took her home, nobody understood the strange girl’s language. The learned Professor Branium announced that Sogga was a swamp dweller—a survivor from prehistoric times! After the first rush of publicity died down, Sogga went with Jane to school.

Ruth’s Racehorse

Plot

When Ruth Wilson’s grandfather became ill, he made her promise to look after his two horses, Lucky Lady and her colt Lucky Star. He was convinced Star could become a successful racehorse. Ruth and Star were accepted for training at Captain  Mallowry’s school for lady jockeys.  In return, Ruth helped out at the stables.

No Teachers at our School!

Plot

When the teachers went on strike at her school, Amanda Roberts persuaded her father, who was a professor, to install computers in each class so that the girls could run the school by themselves. The Education Department agreed to give the girls a month’s trial, but were unaware that the seniors were bullying the juniors. Amanda was determined to show the younger girls that they could outwit the seniors, but she didn’t know that there was a spy in their midst, who told tales to Rachel West, the Head Girl.

Plot

Katy’s Cook-Book

Plot

Katy Boyd was treated like a skivvy in the house and  cafe belonging to her Aunt Connie.In an effort to better herself she entered a cookery competition sponsored by Prior’s Pure Foods. The contestants had to build a recipe book with loose-leaf pages awarded for success in a series of cooking tests.

Jackie and Jill [1976]

Plot

Jackie Jarvis was searching for her twin sister, Jill, the girls had been parted when they were adopted by separate families when they were babies. Jackie’s only link to her twin was a silver Gemini medallion which seemed to have the strange power of making her dream about Jill.

Faith and her Friend

Plot

Eleven year old orphan Faith Lowin lived with her Uncle Sid, her  Aunt Lizzie, and cousins, Alfie and Jasmine. Everyone treated Faith like a slave. As well as doing all the housework Faith had to work hard in her uncle’s junk yard. Faith’s only friend was a stray cat which she called “Friend”. Alfie and Jasmine had tried to kill Friend, but Faith managed to save him.
