Cheerful Cherry Martin

Plot:

The young Cherry Martin worked as under Matron at Larks Hall Prep School for boys. One time Mrs. Baddersley the head Matron had too leave Cherry in charge, just  before a big rugby match with a rival school.

In a little explored region of Africa, where the lion ruled undisturbed by man’s influence, Ralph Graham, a well known camera man, was filming another of his wild life series for television.  He is surprised to find a girl running with antelope and living with lions.

Just Call Me Kate!

Plot:

Princess Katherine of Estelstein was a new pupil at the Highdene School for Girls. But she didn’t stand on ceremony and asked the other pupils to call her Kate. However, her prim lady-in-waiting Prunella Smith-Smythe was determined the princess be treated royally. She took her job so seriously, she even joined Kate in the classroom.

Plot:

Hannah Hamer’s father was the village clogmaker, and  reckoned her younger brother Robin should learn the craft from him. However, Hannah felt Robin should have a better start in life, so she took on a dreadful job at the local paper mill, while he went to study at The College on the Hill.

The Secret Sister

Plot:

Jane and Susie James were identical twins and had been brought up by their Great Aunt Katherine. When Aunt Katherine got into financial difficulties, they moved to a smaller house in a new town. The twins were eager to attend a private school near their new home, but Aunt Katherine could only afford  for one of them to attend. The girls come up with the idea to secretly share their education, enrolling as Mary James – Jane did the classwork while Susie did the sports.

Dark Days for Dolly

Plot:

Orphan Dolly Leonard was happy to be taken in by the wealthy Mrs. Carstairs to live in Taltree Manor, but then Mrs. Carstairs had a stroke leaving her paralysed. When her relatives arrived, they discovered their aunt was leaving her estate to Dolly , on the condition that Dolly was still living there at the time of Mrs. Carstair’s death.
