Plot

Paula Shelton sends her German pen pal Joachim photographs of herself and her best friend Sara. But when Joachim replies, Paula realises he thinks Sara is her. She decides not to tell him the truth in case he does not write again. But then Joachim says he is coming to meet Paula in person on a school trip. When Sara hears about the problem, she agrees to swap identities with Paula while Joachim visits.

When they see a picture of a rich girl that looks like her and read that her sister, Barbara, was killed in plane crash years ago, her cruel uncle forces her to impersonate the girl in order to get money from the rich family.

Plot

Sally Randall wants to be a show-jumper, but her father has banned ponies. Crippled show-jumper Ruth Hanbury has secretly trained Sally on her own pony, Storm. Sally is entering events under the name of “McAndrew” and competing in the Junior Championships. Then jealous Joyce Heath discovers that Sally is competing under a false name, which is grounds for disqualification. Sally has realised Joyce knows the truth but wonders why Joyce isn’t letting on. She does not realise that Joyce is trying to figure out her motive for competing under a false name, which must be a serious one, before reporting her.

Plot

Jackie Johnson pretends to be a humanoid robot, Shena (Simulated-Humanoid-Electro-Newtronic-Automation) to save her scientist father from ruin. “Shena” is designed to protect wealthy Daphne Richmond, but Daphne gets kidnapped. Meanwhile, Daphne’s chauffeur Andrew discovers Jackie’s secret, and then two “robots” attempt to rescue Daphne.

Beth and Boy Georgie

Plot

Georgina Foster and Beth Dawson enter the Bendall Cup for ice-skating but lose their partners when they go to register. Just for a joke, Georgina and Beth enter together, with Georgina pretending to be a boy, George. But when they pass the first heat, this gets them trapped in a deception with Georgina forced to go on pretending to be a boy. To add to their problems, their schools are bitter rivals.
